Unsolved Mystery

Image by Sarolta Ban, as provided by The Mag

Watching the Detective

“You think you're alone until you realize you're in it
Now fear is here to stay, love is here for a visit
They call it instant justice when it's past the legal limit
Someone's scratching at the window, I wonder who is it?” –Elvis Costello

The guilt he feels is quite overt
‘though crimes committed were covert.
She follows him with daunting eye.
Who is he?  He’s the unsolved guy.

But who was victimized?  Was he
unlucky or a casualty
within this mise-en-scène?  And why?
Who is he?  He’s the unsolved guy.

A mystery?  She's just a fact.
He wonders how the deck got stacked
but in this vortex, thoughts belie:
re matters of this unsolved guy.

The guilt he feels is quite overt...
Who is he?  He’s the unsolved guy.

Notes:  The form is Kyrielle Sonnet.  The prompt of the above picture was provided for by The Mag.  When I saw it, the first thing which came to mind was the Elvis Costello song, 'Watching the Detectives.'
